Music Therapy In the News
Music therapy is a guided process that harnesses the skillful and creative use of music to improve health & well-being. Studies show that a sequential and progressive program of music therapy can improve motor, cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal skills. Relationships with the therapist, and others in a group setting, are developed and strengthened through the shared experience of musical enjoyment.
Music therapists are Bachelor of Music Therapy degree (BMT) graduates with specialized training in music therapy and psychology. They are designated as Music Therapist Accredited (MTA) by the Canadian Association for Music Therapy (CAMT) based on required academic and clinical credentials. Learn more about MTA.
