Drop by on February 26th, 2012 from 1:00-3:00pm for an informal "Meet & Greet". This open-house style meeting will give families and community members an opportunity to: Meet our Staff; See our program space; Learn about our programs; and Ask questions. See this poster for details.
March Break Programs for Children & Teens
We are pleased to be offering the following programs over the March Break: Creative Kids! (for children 7-12) and Drumbeats & Brushstrokes (for teens 13-18). Both programs combine art and music therapy experiences which provide structured opportunities for social interaction, communication and creative self-expression. Make a Joyful Noise! Join us for our 7th Annual Winter Recital
Come out and support individuals in our community with special needs. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Academie Ste. Cecile, Academy of Music (12021 Tecumseh Road East) starting at 2:00pm. Admission is FREE, however donations will be collected for Family Respite Services. See details here.
NEW Fall Programming - Drumsbeats and Brushstrokes: Teen Edition
This exciting new group program combines music therapy and expressive art experiences and is designed specifically for teens (13-18). The program supports choice making, relationship building, and creative expression. It is an ideal program for individuals who have verbal or nonverbal communication skills, an interest in music and art, and a willingness to try new things. Download our registration form for program details. Please note: This program qualifies for the "Children's Activity Tax Credit" of up to $100 (includes individuals with a disability up to age 18).
New Combined Program At WETRA!
This March Break come out and experience CREATIVE KIDS! A Riding, Music & Art Centered Program for Children with Special Needs. Children between the ages of 7-12 will experience therapeutic riding in the morning followed by music and art in the afternoon. When: March 14-18, 2011 9:00-3:00pm at WETRA's New Facility. 6th Annual WINTER RECITAL
Come Out & Celebrate the Talents and Achievements of Children, Teens & Adults with Special Needs in Our Community!
FREE admission. Donate if you like.
Everyone is welcome and donations will be collected for Family Respite Services. Donations go directly towards helping children with special needs in Windsor-Essex access services and participate in the community.
The event takes place at Academie Ste. Cecile, Academy of Music, located at 12021 Tecumseh Rd. E. Tecumseh, ON (Next to Torino's Restaurant).
Performances include:
2:00-2:45pm - Children 5-12
3:00-4:00pm - Teens & Adults
Whole Note Music Therapy Services believes in providing opportunities for every individual to reach their full potential. This recital promotes a supportive environment where individual abilities are celebrated.
First Steps Program for Children - Registration Begins
Whole Note Music Therapy Services is offering inclusive infant and toddler programs for both typically developing children and those who may have a special need. Each program is based on John M. Feierabend's First Steps in Music curriculum. Programs take place Monday mornings at MonkeyTown starting June 7th and ending July 26.
